Aloha! The 66th Annual Garden Island Motorcycle Club Labor Day Hare & Hound is slated for Saturday, September 5th in Kalalea, Anahola. Clayton Oshita is this yearʻs trail master. The trail is 99% complete and we are proceeding as if it’s a “go”. However, circumstances and restrictions may change come September 5th. As of this communication, we have the Countyʻs approval to hold the race, provided we adhere to State and County Covid-19 directives. Following these directives, we are limited to a maximum of 100 individuals on-site, including riders, one mandatory parent/guardian per minor racer, and volunteers. In accordance with the limitations, spectators will NOT be permitted at the event.
If we are able to proceed with the event, it will be a simplified version of what we are all accustomed to. This will be a racer's only event, without the awards banquet and the social connecting that we all cherish. The many variables that may be detrimental to our communityʻs well-being weigh heavily on our decision making. With that being said, we have decided that this yearʻs race will be open to Kauaʻi racers only. We are making this decision to protect and respect our community. Please know it is a decision that we are not taking lightly. Planning for this event has been extremely challenging. We will miss the competition and comradery. We look forward to welcoming you back to our 2021 race.
We humbly ask for your patience, understanding, & support as we move forward with GIMC’s tremendous legacy of the longest consecutive motorcycle race in American history!
